KaBoom!
About
Kaboom was set up on June 9th 2005 primarily to provide a service to
players interested in trading for pyrotechnics materials and resources.
It also acts as a training ground for players new to pyrotechnics,
offering subsidised resources and pyrotechnics 'starter packs'. We are
based by the Pharaoh's Bay Chariot Stop (-921,7689). We also offer public
facilities for players wishing to explore pyrotechnics.
We are always looking to expand, and donations are gratefully recieved -
especially those of of bricks and boards.
Manifesto
Kaboom's primary intention is to make the Test Of Pyrotechnics more
accessable to all players. To achieve this we intend to offer a trading
service similar to that of 'The Goods' trading emporium, but focusing
specifically on resources related to, and required for, the Test Of Pyrotechnics.
We shall also be offering subsidised 'Starter Packs' for pyrotechnics, as well
as basic tutorials and lessons for newcomers to Pyrotechnics. We intend to
offer these services at a minimum markup in order to make it possible for our
staff and tellers to devote enough time to KaBoom without falling behind on
thier personal projects.
We will also offer to rent services and facilities at a subsidised price.

Pricing System
Our pricing system works in a similar manner to that of The Goods.
Some of our stock, however, will operate on a fixed price basis, and some products we will buy, but not sell. Such commodities are marked on the inventory page.
The Factory
As well as acting as a shop, KaBoom will also actively manufacter a backstock of
metal salts and stars from the shop stock. As such, there will likely be a steady demand for
metals and 'base' ingredients, and stock levels are liable to fluctuate..
Exceptions to Free Trade
KaBoom believes that if we keep our system as a completely
free market - as with The Goods
- we'll soon find that people use the store solely as an exchange for
rare metals, and use the guild as an attempt to under-cut other trading
organisations, thus rendering our manifesto as a 'way to make pyrotechnics
more accessable to all players' of little use. So - we'll trade openly on most
materials, but make several unavailable for purchase from the store, such as
Tar, Papyrus Paper and Metals. We will, however, still accept these as payment
for other goods. This way we'll be able to trade openly, still have an incoming
supply of metals (it'll be benefitial and profitable for players to sell metals
to us in exchannge for salts/stars), and we can process the metals as they
come in to sell on as salts or stars.
